Belly Dancing.. Quite Interesting

I've watched some video clips of Belly Dancing in youtube.com this morning and it caught my interest a lot. I was captivated by the uniqueness of the dance and so I made some research how it could help attain most of women's goal which is getting into shape. In Asia, it was said that Belly Dancing is a dance to usher in a new birth while in Turkey, it is considered a folk dance referred to as oryantal dansı ("Dance of the East") . Belly dance is a Western name for an Arabic style of dance developed in the Middle East. In Europe, it is sometimes called oriental dance. It is other means of physical fitness that will help burn out calories and will shape one's body. I've been doing the circuit workout for 2 months now despite of my very busy schedules and so my body is adapting. It causes lots of muscle pains before but as I keep on doing it regularly, I'm now starting to enjoy the benifits it could give. Now I see Belly Dancing is quite interesting as well and so I may try this also at home besides I do love dancing....hehehe. They said a single belly dance session works hundreds of muscles, burns calories and helps to de-stress . I have read about Belly Dancing from CNN article and one teacher quoted. "The neck moves and the shoulders move and the chest lifts and the diaphragm lifts. The pelvis goes up and down, It's soft for the joints and yet it's very energetic and very aerobic." Hmmmm... quite helpful and exciting huh. Anyway, I saw these videos from youtube.com, it's actually for beginners like me who would love to try Belly dancing. The language though was interpreted from English to Russian I think.. not quite sure though. But still, it's easy to learn. Oh I will surely try this at home..

Kagay-an Festival (August 28,2007)

Last August 27-28,2007, we Kagayanons has experienced a very spectacular celebration of the feast of St. Agustin; the patron saint of Cagayan De Oro City. Viva Senior San Agustin!!! The shouts of the street dancers as they do their Higaonon dance steps while the crowd was also cheering and rejoicing going along with the beating of their ethnic musics. This year’s festival is anchored on the city’s indigenous tradition, the Higaonons, one of the tribes in Mindanao that was considered the original settlers of the Cagayan de Oro and the Misamis Oriental areas. The celebration pointed out that the warmth of the Cagayanon friendship and hospitality is something that makes Cagayan de Oro entirely different from other places in the country. And this years festivals shows oneness among the Cagayanons as it was manifested with various competitions such as street dancing, golden float competition, the fluvial parade and other activitites like horse back riding, agro-industrial trade fair, motor cross show and a lot lot more. I have managed to get some of the pictures of the celebration. Hope you will find it interesting. *wink*

Rush Hour :)

Just like Jackie Chan Rush Hour 3 movie.:) Wheeeewwww.... Rush! Rush! Thursday. Today, my team and I need to finish an application for tomorrow's presentation. We've been seating in our chairs doing programming jobs the entire day. It's stressful but the good thing is we do love what we're doing. A big hand for my team!!!! *applause* Go GIRLS!!! I'm taking a break now and so I get this chance to update my blog and talk to some of my friends in the net. Lately I have problem accessing my Yahoo Messenger so now I'm just using www.meebo.com to access my buddy list. However, it seemed now that meebo.com has problem also in displaying their page or maybe they are doing some page maintenance. Anyway, to beat the stress, I’m watching this certain funny clip in www.youtube.com. My MBA classmates told me to search for “benjo kag batalyon pitbull” in youtube. It’s actually a scene from the movie “300” but the conversation however was translated to “Ilonggo”. It’s the dialect of the people living in visayas region, particularly IloIlo, Philippines. It’s funny although the translation doesn’t make sense at all. Hahahaha. Anyway, to those wondering what I’m talking about, view the movie below.

Frustrating Tuesday Morning :(

My morning today is scarcely good. First the traffic is really bad. When I get into my office, I noticed a two big boxes actually Sun Servers in placed near our Assistant Vice President’s table blocking the space. What will he think if he sees it there blocking his table. I felt bad because in the first place, they didn’t informed or asked me if my office could accommodate the servers. I asked the other manager to take it out. I wanted to have a spacious room so that my team could at least relax and feel comfortable. All day long they keep on analyzing, programming and debugging codes.Anyway, they have already requested the janitors to retrieve it. I just hope these will be out before our AVP enter this room. I am trying to release this bad feeling that I have now and one way of releasing this is writing it here in my blog, I think. :( Inhale, exhale …I think I need this now. Tonight is my Midterm exam too for my Quantitative Analysis subject. Maybe I was just pressured. I’ll be ok a couple of minutes from now. Just Relax Ycherrs and Good luck! :(

The Art Of Letting Go....

All through the entire day, I’ve been thinking what would be my post for today. At exactly 5:00pm, something came up to my mind persuading me to post this kind of topic. And so I did before going to my MBA class tonight. The Art of letting go is somehow very hard to learn especially when you cling too much to something or someone. Sometimes it’s terrible to realize that you have learned to value a thing, a person so much yet all of sudden it will just be gone forever. Even though it’s no longer there yet we tend to look back always hoping that the trails left behind will be a sign of hope for it to come back to our lives. But all of us need to move on. Sometimes this serves as our crashed courses, for us to be strong and to value life even more. People may come and go because they too need to move on with their lives. It may mean pain to those people who value them; but we should think the other side of it. That maybe one way or another, they have chosen to follow a brighter and better path and leaving you behind is somehow their only option to avoid hurting you deeply; because most often the truth and reality hurts. That’s why they have chosen to just fade away rather than giving you hope which they think beyond to their reach of fulfilling it. It’s the lesson that I’ve learned also but we should be happy that it happens rather than clinging to the sadness of losing them. The world is so big, full of wondrous things to be discovered. You may lose the friendship or love you tend to seek from someone but we should always remember that there will always be another one to fill up the emptiness in our hearts. So let’s cheer up always. Lot’s of love and comfort waits for us all. *wink*

"The greatest relationship that we can ever have is our relationship with ourself, because the relationship that we have with ourself will determine the quality of relationships that we have with others."

Just Another Monday....

My weekend was a bit pressured yet exciting. Last Saturday was my Managerial Accounting subject midterm exam. Weeeeewww!!! Quite tough huh.. Create T accounts, journalize adjustments, income statement and balance sheet. Good thing we happened to manage it though *wink*. Sunday, hmmmmmm pasta time Yum! Yum!. I prepared spaghetti for the whole family. I have tried various blends. Filipino style sauce but with a little touch of Italian style. They’ve love it! Hooray!! A big hand for the cook!!! *applause*.

Today is just another Monday. The moment I entered my office this morning my mind start scanning my itineraries for this week. Woaahhhh! I have got lots of it. Anyway, like I always said it’s just a matter of time management so I shouldn’t be worried much about it. I will get it all done. Girl Power!! *wink*. And to add some flavor while working, I played my Bossa Nova collection sung by Isabel Ortega. It will help lowering the pressure. Very soothing and will provide a very gentle matrix.

Cracking The Code Of Change

I started my morning today reading a very nice article that my MBA Human Behavior professor has given me. It was such a nice article about Management deciding what approach he would take to implement a drastic change to save a company that is in delimma. The article is written by a professors of Business Administration at Harvard Business School in Boston. It is written in there the possible ways in implementing changes. One, they called it Theory E or the so called "Hard" approach to change wherein shareholder value is the only legitimate measure of corporate success. This kind of change usually involves heavy use of economic incentives, drastic layoffs, downsizing and restructuring. I have experienced this before and it was bad. My office once hired a japanese analyst 7 yrs ago. His job was to focus immediately on streamlining the "hardware" of the organization - the structures and systems. We call him "THE CHAINSAW" *wink*. It was terrible. The first day of the week when you got into your office and enter your network password, all you got is "ACCESS DENIED" error. And when you try to verify it to your network administrator he would say to approach HR department. And the next thing you will learn is you are included in the list of the employees subject for MRP (Mandatory Retrenchment Program). I have seen lots of shocked faces, crying, in pain stating their sentiments about it. It was just so unfair the way I look at it. After that Retrenchment period, that japanese analyst was gone too. Hmmm.. Very Bad!!! :(

Another theory they called is Theory O or the so called "Soft" approach to change, the goal is to develop corporate culture and human capability through individual and organizational learning the process of changing, obtaining feedback, reflecting and making further changes. Managers and employees were encouraged to collectively reexamine their work practices and behaviors with a goal of increasing productivity and quality. Managers were replaced if they did not conform to the new philosophy, but the overall firing freeze helped to create a culture of trust and commitment. However, this kind of approach also will let the management feel that their loyalty and commitment to their employees can prevent them from making tough decisions. And so the temptation is to postpone the bitter medicine in the hopes that rising prouctivity will improve the business situation. Either Theory, if use alone has its own limitations and disadvantages. That's why the article suggested to use both instead but with careful understanding when to use the method sequentially. Like for instance, it is highly unlikely that Theory E would be successfully follow Theory O because of the sense of betrayal that would involve. So the real question is, How to achieve rapid movements in economic value while simultaneously developing an open, trusting corporate culture? According to the article, it is possible to apply Theories E and O together but it will require great will, skill and wisdom. But because it is more difficult than mere sequencing, the simultaneous use of O and E strategies is more likely to be a source of sustainable competitive advantage. This could be attain by explicitly confront the tension between E and O goals then set direction from top and engage people below.Once these were attained already, focus simultaneously on the hard and soft sides of the organizations plan for spontaneity and let incentives reinforce change, not drive it.

Woaahh.. the article is really nice.. I will surely apply this if given the chance *wink*.

Lily Allen.. Smile.. Not Bad....

I like it!!!! One friend told me to search for Lily Allen's Smile song. When i first listened to it, I couldn't appreciate the song yet since my ears are still familiarizing with the rythmn. But when I repeat the play again, then again and again.. ohh the song is not bad. It's quite cute actually. The video is cute too. You can see her music video below. It's a story of two lovers. The boy dumped the girl and the girl somehow suffered much pain inside. But when finally she have coped up with her pain, she manage to deal her revenge veryyyyyy smoothly.hehehe. Cute.. Cute.. Cute...

Here's The Lyrics Of The Song
Smile (Lily Allen)

When you first left me
I was wanting more
But you were f**king that girl next door
What'cha do that for?
(What'cha do that for?)
When you first left me I didn't know what to say
Never been on my own that way
Just sat by myself all day

I was so lost back then
But with a little help from my friends,
I found the light in the tunnel at the end
And now you're calling me up on the phone
So you can have a little whine and a moan
It's only because you're feeling alone

At first when I see you cry
Yeah, it makes me smile
Yeah, it makes me smile
At worst I feel bad for a while
But then I just smile
I go ahead and smile

Whenever you see me
You say that you want me back
And I tell you it don't mean jack (it don't mean jack)
No it don't mean jack (no it don't mean jack)
I couldn't stop laughing
No I just couldn't help myself
I See you messed up my mental health
I was quite unwell
[Smile lyrics on http://www.metrolyrics.com]

I was so lost back then
But with a little help from my friends,
I found the light in the tunnel at the end
And now you're calling me up on the phone
So you can have a little whine and a moan
It's only because you're feeling alone

At first when I see you cry
Yeah, it makes me smile
Yeah, it makes me smile
At worst I feel bad for a while
But then I just smile
I go ahead and smile

Lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala etc.

At first when I see you cry
Yeah, it makes me smile
Yeah, it makes me smile
At worst I feel bad for a while
But then I just smile
I go ahead and smile

At first when I see you cry
Yeah, it makes me smile

At worst I feel bad for a while
But then I just smile
I go ahead and smile

You're Irresistible........

Irresistible , one of the Hit song of The Corrs. Their albums, my favorite these days. I think they've caught me... Yep you heard me right. They've caught me since that day I have fallen inlove .......................... with their songs. Hehehe . Wheeeew!!! THE CORRS, they're so marvelous, splendid, fabulous, magnificient etc etc etc. Their talents, incomparable. What a superb performance. Last night, I couldn't help myself again. While in the middle of reviewing my MBA lessons, again temptation caught me when I saw that DVD disc of The CORRS performing live in LONDON. And yes, I couldn't resist it and so I watched it again. As in again? Yes, correct. I have been watching that performance more than 28th times already. Wahhhhh!!! I think I have memorized all the songs they have sung in there. But how could I resist it? With all those talents that they have. Andrea Corr, the vocalist, she is sooooo good. Wish I have a voice same as hers. Caroline Corr with the Drums, so energetic. Jim Corr, their eldest and with his guitar, so powerful. And oh! Sharon Corr, I like her so much. What a talent. Whenever she holds that violin and play her part, it brings a traditional Irish edge to their music that blends seamless with their contemporary sound. I was wathcing their concert video very attentively that even a blink of an eye I will not do. I don't want to miss that part. And guess what, I slept last night almost 2 in the morning already. Woooooooohhh!!! See.. I told you.. Im inlove.... really!!!. What can I do? I'm so fascinated with this kind of music.

Punjab..A Scenic City In India

A Punjabi friend, a brother ,introduce a very scenic city to me a few weeks back. Although I havent heard the city name yet in India, I was so amazed with the view when my friend send me this pictures. I got carried away with the scenes I saw and so decided to make some research about Punjab city located in India. According to my research, Punjab is a land hallowed by saints and scarred by battles, an ancient land yielding archaeological treasures, a land of palaces and museums. A visitor to Punjab can see the Golden Temple at Amritsar, the sword of Hazrat Ali at Anandpur Sahib, the world's highest straight gravity dam at Bhakra, India’s Steel City – Gobindgarh, and the world‘s biggest grain market at Khanna. No one has ever gone back from Punjab without leaving a part of himself behind and taking part of Punjab with him. Reading this lines, I'm not mistaken that Punjab is a great city. I have decided to post the pictures my friend gave me and asked permissions to allow me to post it here. Hope I could have the chance to actually visit this place....
